Meretrix lusoria (Roding, 1798)
Description
Deep brown, pale blue gray with two radial bands or brown dots or brown splotches,
white with brown postero-dorsal-margin. Subtrigonal, outer surface nearly smooth.
Posterior margin expands(figured type) or not expands. Resembles
"Meretrix lamarckii Deshayes, 1853", but ventral margin swells and pallial
sinus shallow.
Locality
Japan: Hokkaido, Tohoku, Setnaikai, Kyushu.

Remarks
The figured dead specimen was caught from Mouth of Tokyo Bay. M. lusoria was
a common shell in old times, but rare now.
